In pursuit of effective organic recipes of skin care, I usually end up with face oils and this time again I am sharing one of the face oils, currently using in my Day and Night skin care regimen.
This is my first Kumkumadi Oil and that too not from any high end or premium brand but from a lesser known brand- Khandige Organic Kumkumadi Taila.
Price- 375 Inr for 50 ml. I got this from Amazon paying extra 70 INR for shipping. You can buy it here from Amazon.
Kumkumadi (kumkum- saffron) oil is one of the ancient Ayurvedic preparations used for skin texture improvement and is considered one of the best organic formulations for skin care. I got to know about this from +Shayoni D and would thanks her for introducing this and even convincing me to give it a try.
Ingredients- Each 100 ml consists of certified organic sesame oil is processed with cow's milk, Kumkuma Crocus Sativus (saffron), Vittevera Zizanorides, Rubia Cordifolia, Glycyrhhiza Glabra, Cinnamomum tarnala, Prunus Cerasoides, Nuciferrar Graten, Santalum Album, Curcuma Long, Burberis Aristala, Mesua Ferra, Beutea Monosperma, Ficus Religious Jasminum Officianale, Alphinia Galanga, Acorus Calamus, Bee Wax.
( Font size on the bottle was too small to read properly and this was the only piece of information I had as the bottle did not had any other source of information like a carton label/Booklet etc so please do not mind or do correct me in case of any mistake)
You can see the entire ingredients are organic, free of paraben/chemicals. 100% Organic.
Expiry- I year ( which is usually rare in case of organic/herbal preparations and that too with oils, can say safety measure)
How to use- Apply on clean and dry skin with soft massage. Allow to absorb for atleast half an hour. Then remove the excess oil with soft facial tissue if needed.
Benefits (as Claimed)- This rich oil nourishes the skin , improves texture and helps to prevent wrinkles. It is helpful to remove pimples, acne, dark spots and also skin cracks. Excellent for daily use as skin tonic. Contains no harmful chemicals.
The Khandige Organic Kumkumadi Oil comes packed in a tinted glass bottle with a dispenser lid and a screw cap. The dispenser lid has two nozzle to control the extra flow- just drop by drop; similar packaging like Moksha Rosehip oil.
This is bright yellow oil with a sweet fragrance like that of indian desserts. Although it seems little thick but after applying on skin it sinks in with a little massage and there is no greasiness and heaviness later too. Texture is quite similar to Rosehip oil.
As usual I apply this oil too on damp face- after applying my DIY floral mists, just 3 drops and then a hydrating moisturiser/night cream. So you wont end up emptying this soon but an year is enough to finish, I guess.
I am using this since a couple of months and the effects are quite visible now-
1. Helps in fading blemishes, acne scars and pigmentation
2. Helps in controlling acne and pimples to a greater extent (steaming your face adds to its efficacy). Probably telling my sebum glands to rest a bit :-)
3. Skin Texture is improved- smooth, dewy and glowing.
4. Open Pores and Wrinkles- Yes Gradual and little improvement in my fine lines (on my forehead) and open pores.
And above all its free from Chemicals/Parabens and that too at extremely affordable price tag.
Overall The Khandige Organic Kumkumadi Oil is truly a star product sans any harmful ingredient- 100% organic and effective. Highly Recommended!
My Rating- 4.9/5
