How was your weekend and that too coupled with Rakshbandhan! I was too occupied with preps and people who are marwaris have something more to double up as Rakshabandhan is followed by 'Sattu Teej'.
If any of you have ever watched some marwari serials like Balika Vadhu or Yeh Rishta kya Kehlata hai. (Although i too do not watch TV serials but i know that these serials have shown these festival celebrations and gave a mass reach) then you might understand that this one of the biggest festivals for Marwari women who fasts for their family and prepares a special dish called Sattu and worships Teej Mata on the day. Any ways this is a part of my current routine but away from that today i am back to my love- my Blog (broad smile).
Today its a handcrafed luxury bath soap from SOS organics +SOS Organics - it is Rose Geranium Soap. I bought this from www.joybynature.com, 100 gms of the Soap retails at 140 INR. You can buy it here.
If are following my last few posts, you might have read, how much i love Khadi Rose soap and Ishalife Honey soap. I was looking for more Rose based/Jasmine based soaps but i gave a try to little different one.
Looking into the description that this product is from an organic brand, free of parabens and SLS/SLES along with cruelty free- i had enough reasons to spend. lets see how it fared.
'Hand Crafted in Himalayas- All our soaps are made in small batches, using the classic cold pressed method. Each bar of soap is hand-cut cured for two months in mountains air and individually packed.'
It claims to have Rose Geranium essential oils.
Ingredients- Coconut Oil, Vegetable Oils, Lye, Madder Root, Nettle Leaf, Rose Geranium and Patchouli essential oils.
Square bar, cream colored with hues of pink- looks pretty and smells quite different, its neither rose nor geranium because its a variety of geranium with hints of rosey smell. its sharp but earthy (probably because of patchouli) smelling soap but its not overpowering. It fades very soon after bath.
Rose Geranium is an uplifting oil & has a great all-over balancing effect and on skin, it helps to create balance between oily and dry skin, keeping the skin supple and clearing congested skin due to its antiseptic properties which aid to help with burns, wounds, ulcers and other skin problems and the emotions - where it helps to relieve feelings of stress and anxiety, and to balance the hormone system. The Soap lathers quite well as compared to the soaps i have tried so far. its creamy and hydrating as i do not feel an immediate urge to apply body lotion soon after.
I have not tried the soap on my face as i have quite sensitive and acne prone skin. But i guess people with all kinds of skin would love it. The soap also does not melt to spoil my soap dish hence goes quite long. i never had any reaction or allergy with this.
It is suitable for kids too.
Overall SOS Organics Rose Geranium Soap is a decent soap sans paraben/SLS/SLES/colours and is quite mild for use. It only did not meet my expectation in the fragrance department. Worth Trying.
