Home Made - Growth Booster Hair Oil.

Hi All,

its been a long time since i have posted something on my blog, reason being besides being a mother to my 5 year old, i am a full time working professional which at times do not allow me to dedicate my time any where else.

Any ways i have decided to pursue my passion of blogging seriously any how so here’s one more informative post on one of our biggest concerns - Falling and Thining hair. One of the primary concerns of working women.


This herbal Recipe is actually my Mom’s preparation and has been using this since years. This oil would not only boost Hair growth but effective in improving  hair texture, handling problems like thining, greying etc. this has been my personal experience. Also it is completely safe as it contains no harmful chemicals.


Lets begin with contents -
1. Oil- Coconut oil, Almond oil, Castor oil & Olive oil. (Ratio of 4:1:1:1), can even replace Coconut oil with Sesame oil.
2. Methi Leaves (can replace with Fenugreek Seeds soaked overnight)- 100 gms for 250 ml of oil
3. Curry Leaves/ Murraya Koenigii - 50 gms
4. Aloevera Pulp/ Aloe Barbadensis - 50 gms
5. Neem Leaves/Azadirachta Indica - 25 gms
6. Shoeflower (Red)/Hibiscus petals - 100 gms
7. Amla fruit/Indian Gooseberry - 100 gms
8. Tulsi /Holy Basil Leaves - 20 gms

Preparation -
Take Coconut oil only and and mix all the ingredients and saok them overnight in oil. Then boil them in a thick base pan till all the ingredients are properly (fried and dried); water  content of the herbs should have evaporated by now leaving only oil with the essence of herbs in it. Add other oils- Castor, Almond & Olive. Sieve them properly in bottle or wide mouthed jar in winters. And here is your potion ready…

Tip -
1. Try and use it after heating a little and apply from roots till tips.
2. You may mix CAMPHOR to add value which will not only address dandruff problem but would prevent oil solidification in winters.
3. You may add essential oil to avoid the strong smell of oil.

Content Information -
Methi  or Fenugreek Leaves -


Fenugreek seeds revives & boosts hair growth. it is a good source of nicotinic acid and protein, niacin, potassium, Vitamin C,amino acids as well as diosgenin.High concentration of lecithin which is a natural emollient and helps in strengthening dry and damaged hair. it also adds to lusture by reducing frizz & improving hair texture .Fenugreek seed are rich in protein and amino acids which helps in moisturising  the hair and reduces hair loss and dandruff.

Curry Leaves -


Curry leaves are a rich source of beta-carotene and proteins. Beta carotene prevents hair loss while proteins stop hair thinning. Curry leaves are also rich in anti-oxidants and amino acids. Amino acids prevents hair loss and strengthens hair follicles, while anti-oxidants moisturise your scalp. Anti-oxidants helps in removing dead scalp follicles, which are the primary cause of dandruff.

Aloevera Pulp -



Aloe Vera plant  contains  vitamins including A, C, E, folic acid, choline, B1, B2, B3 (niacin), B6. Aloe Vera is also one of the important  plants,  that contains vitamin B12. Which is meant to sure all hair troubles
Apart from these Aloe Vera includes minerals like calcium, magnesium, zinc, chromium, selenium, sodium, iron, potassium, copper, manganese too.
Neem Leaves -

Neem is known for its antifungal, antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and several other innumerable benefits. These are also helpful to cure scalp infections, dandruff, kills lices and maintains hair health.

Shoe flower petals (Hibiscus flower)

Shoe Flower mainly contains anthocyanins and flavonoids, which promote hair growth.The medicated oil from Shoe Flower petals has anti-hairfall properties. It is also used in herbal hair cleansers to retain hair color and promote hair growth. You may also use plant leaves in absence of petals.


Amla Fruit -

The fruit is an important source of vitamin C, minerals and amino acids. It contains three times the protein concentration and vitamin C (ascorbic acid) concentration than apple.Amla oil contains essential fatty acids that help in promoting hair growth. Head massage using amla oil increases blood circulation in the scalp thereby improving hair growth. It even helps in strengthening hair follicles and acts as a conditioner. Dandruff and dry itchy scalp can be avoided by applying it.

Tulsi Leaves -


The herb is an antioxidant and contains vitamin C which helps in hair growth, controlling infections & bad odour.

  1. I usually just mix oils...coconut, castor, almond, olive and vit E. Im surely going to make this one, whenever I get the time :)
